As you may remember a month or two back, Mercedes debuted a new entertainment service known as "text tracks."  In short, text tracks is a collection of short stories written by authors from around the world, narrated by world-renowned speakers and made available to you for download, free of charge, in MP3 format.

Today, the second installment of text tracks has been released, and is available immediately for your listening pleasure.

Now normally this is the part where I'd give my own insight on Mercedes' literary choices, but today I thought I'd try something a little different.  Instead of boring you with my bland viewpoint, I thought I'd let you, the public, review for yourself Mercedes latest text tracks, and publish your own opinions for the world to see.

Although we don't have comments on our site (we're working on it, I swear), instead you'll have to send your reviews to us via our contact form, and we'll publish them on this page for you.  Love them?  Hate them? We're dying to hear it.

So what are you waiting for?

To begin the literary adventure, head over to Mercedes-Benz.com and download text tracks number 02 for yourself.

Reader Reviews

Terrible.  Just terrible.  After listening to parts of the first and second story, I had to stop.

When I first read about the idea behind the text tracks, I was pretty excited.

After actually listening to the stories, I understand why they're free.  You'd have to pay me to listen to them.

I like the stories.

I think alot of people probaly don't get them, but I like them.  I've already downloaded them and added them to my iPod.

I just listened to the Mercedes Text Tracks.

Although it's an interesting idea, the execution is somewhat lacking.  I found many of the stories to be bland, almost to the point that it was comical.

If the implementation was better, I think its popularity would grow; but the current state needs some work.

I used to rely on sleeping pills to help me get through the night.

Not anymore.

I just lay down, turn Mercedes text tracks on, voila... I sleep like a baby.

5. Review by 2005SL

I love the free Mercedes downloads.  I download their free MP3 songs as soon as they come out, and now I download these stories as well.

They're awesome.

6. Review by Jake

I don't care for the stories.

In general, I enjoy a wide assortment of literature, but these stories were somewhat lacking in my opinion.
